Editorial: Delivery of Online Services amidst the Pandemic

For achieving one of the core values of the University, Cavite State University-Trece Martires City Campus held several webinars and forums online to continuously give service and support to the students amid a global pandemic.

The proliferation of COVID-19 brought several challenges and changes to the different sectors of our society especially in education. Students were introduced to the different platforms, media, and systems to be able to continue learning and self-development. A year with this kind of approach and structure in education had already passed and we were able to cross one semester of online learning. However, there were still people who are struggling and scuffling with the new normal style of learning. To ease that certain problem, Cavite State University- Trece Campus conducted various webinars and forums following the students’ issues and difficulties. The university arranged their “First Virtual Stakeholders Forum” that was attended by the students, representatives from different organizations both academic and non-academic, faculty, and staff. It was also attended by guests from different university partners and affiliated companies such as the University of  Makati, City College of Tagaytay, and LEENTECH Solutions Inc. The forum was organized to create wo-way communication between the students and the university concerning their problems and difficulties and what the school can give and offer to smoothen the flexible learning before the second semester started. As March flourishes, the university also conducted webinars focusing on women’s bravery and empowerment.

Those webinars did  not only focused on giving credits to the women but also all types of genders and sexes led by the Gender and Development Resource Center. They also conducted a “KATROPA Logo Making Contest” that was joined by the students from different campuses and programs. The contest was made to create balance with the student’s online academic learning and education enjoyment. A webinar aimed to inform and train students from making academic researches and investigative studies was also held and it was entitled “CvSU Form and Style Webinar”. Credible and reliable resource speakers led the online seminar to support the students in making their studies and researches. Lastly, the biggest plan of the university in becoming a SMART Campus overjoyed and delighted the student’s mental and emotional state. It was a framework to be built and to be carefully designed by the university to continually grant the students with online possibilities and innovations.
These plans and services presented by the university will not be possible without the hard work and dedication invested by all the members of the faculty in the lead of the campus administrator, Prof Noel A. Sedigo. The services meant to be delivered to the students were successfully exhibited notwithstanding its difficulties and limitations brought by the pandemic. Our current situation has already made cut and scar to every individual thereupon, the university was doing its best to consequently supply the needs of the students through giving service originated from the campus staff dedication for quality education.

School officials and administration are doing their best, utilizing the available sources, and enhancing their skills beyond limitations to give service through diminishing new sets of information and skills to the students for development and improvement. In this time of crisis, improving ourselves and believing in our school officials are all we need to make this surpass one day.
