The 1st Virtual Stakeholders’ Forum was announced through the Central Student Government (CSG) Page last February 19, 2021, via Zoom attended by Central Student Government Officers, representatives of school organizations, parents, and, faculties. The purpose of this forum is to address the complaints of the students in online learning.
Online learning is a physical distance between students and teachers in which they will interact through virtual lectures and online assessments. For this to happen, online internet and online platforms are needed. But there are lots of complaints about this online learning such as the slow internet here in the Philippines. According to Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) poor internet connection, especially in the provinces, has made the conduct of fully online classes “not viable.” However, Cavite State University- Trece Martires City Campus has an organization and each organization have a representative and their role is to gather the complaints of the students in online learn- ing. The complaints are the confusion of the students while learning on their own, overloaded school works, and even students want to have synchronous classes despite the slow internet connection for them to understand the lesson well. The faculties including Sir Noel Sedigo promised that each subject will conduct synchronous classes and the professors will grade the students’ activities accordingly. In addition, the President of Central Student Government, Timothy Greco said that if students have problems they will help them through it.
This Stakeholders’ Virtual Forum seems to be a great way to understand the strength and weaknesses of online learning.
